Flag Cottage

Flag Cottage is located just a few metres from the central village square.  Upon entering you will find yourself in an ‘ancient’ Lakeland cottage which once served a dual purpose; the ground floor offering accommodation for animals whilst their human custodians lived above enjoying the heat radiating from the animals during winter!

Of course things have moved on and gas central heating now offers comfort during cooler climes.

The ground floor now offers a snug but well equipped kitchen, which retains the original beams and an impressive exposed flagstone wall, which lends its name to the cottage.  Here you will find all you need to cook up a storm with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and dining area for all. 

You will also discover the first of the bedrooms on the ground floor.  This is a double-bedded room, again with the lovely exposed flagstone wall, and a shower and WC room located across the hallway.

Heading up a spiral staircase to the first floor we arrive in the lounge which offers the perfect place to kick back and relax with views across the roof-tops of the village to the fells beyond. This room really is the beating heart of the house with two sofas surrounding the flame effect electric fire and TV/DVD.

A separate ‘snug’ is located at the back of the lounge with a leather sofa and TV, the ideal place to chill and watch a movie after a day out and about. 

The second bedroom is located off the lounge, a double with en-suite shower wet-room and WC.

Outside you will find a private patio area with seating to enjoy those sunny days and a small stream at the bottom. 

The cottage has WiFi throughout.

Unloading is in the square and a parking permit is provided for the village Pay & Display car park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
